    A New FRx Training Program!

This is what we have heard recently about your training requirements - that’s to our many users who have responded to our most recent survey. What was requested? We heard that you want to learn more about some of the Microsoft Great Plains modules you own, but the conventional offerings don’t work for you. “We can’t afford to leave our offices for one or two full days – the workload will be overwhelming when we are out this long. I can’t retain even 50% of what I am taught in full day classes. I learn by doing, so sessions where I don’t have a chance to practice what I am being taught isn’t ideal.” Isn’t there an alternative?  Based on your requests, we have developed a new training offering to address these points. Mike Tassone on our team will be offering web based FRx training in the Spring of 2009. This is a six week course that will be given on the same day each week for three hours. The training will utilize Terminal Sever and GoToMeeting, so that Mike can present material and then give students time to practice what they have been taught. This tool will permit Mike to view students screens so that specific questions can be answered to the entire group. Students will be encouraged to practice their new skills on their actual FRx system between sessions. Questions can be forwarded between sessions to Mike so that he can address them, if appropriate, at the next session. The total fee is $1,500 per student and we are limiting the number of students to six so that Mike can devote enough time to everyone so that they can become proficient in FRx by the end of this six week course. The schedule for these six sessions will be determined at a later date.  Please check back starting in January 2009 for updates.

The initial agenda for this FRx course is:

    • Detailed Trial Balance exported to Excel
    • Format Masks and Custom Fonts
    • Reporting Trees for departmental (and other GL reporting unit) reports
    • Virtual Reporting Units (Roll ups)
    • Sending all or select Parent and/or Child unit reports via email
    • Trend IS, CUR-YTD w/variance analysis, Favorable/Unfavorable Budget variance
    • Designer vs. Drill Down Viewer vs. Report Launcher

We also plan to address more advanced functionality, including:
    • Linking to External Worksheets
    • FASB (and other) Cash Flow Statements
    • Allocation Journal Entry and Reporting
    • Multiple Company Consolidations with Eliminations

OLAP Output to Local or Server Cubes As stated above, we are limiting this to six students at this time. We will also be offering a second class in late 2009.

Just another example how we are looking forward to helping you get more out of your software investment!
